About Joseph Pollak

Joseph Pollak is a master craftsman, who has a passion for creating one-of-a-kind cabinetry and furniture. Growing up in New York, Joseph visited Maine at a young age, and immediately knew that was where he wanted to live. For over thirty years Joe has been building cabinets in southern Maine out of his one-man cabinetry shop, Knock on Woodworks. Joseph enjoys combining his expertise and artistic sensibilities to design works that are both beautiful and practical, and has challenged himself to create everything from vanities to violins. Joe has collaborated with many of the state's top architects, designers, and builders, and his work is often featured in premier design magazines. All cabinets by Joseph Pollak include dovetail drawers made by Maine Dovetail, which he founded in 2000, with his wife Ann. Joe has been a resident of Cumberland since 1988, where he and Ann raised their three children.
